His girls team has won nine consecutive conference divisional titles while going undefeated during that time.
As individuals, Mike’s athletes have earned over 170 conference honors, 32 conference titles, 18 all-state honors, eight state titles, and a state course record (2013, Class SS). Mike has guided several of his athletes to national competition and helped many more continue on to intercollegiate competition.
As a high school athlete, Mike won over 12 individual conference titles and was a four-time Junior Olympic national qualifier. He was part of three state championship teams in cross country and was a two-time state champion at 1600 meters. He went on to run collegiately for Southern Connecticut State University, where he competed at the NCAA Division II cross country national championship.
