2015 will mark Coach Chester’s 26th year attending running camp in Lyndonville Vermont.
Coach Chester has been a varsity high school cross country and track coach in Connecticut since 1987. In that time, his teams have won 17 state championships (13 in cross country and 4 in track), 15 cross country conference championships, and 11 track conference championships.
Between 2000 – 2007 coach Chester’s XC teams captured 8 straight state championships – the most consecutive state class championships won by a school in the history of cross country in Connecticut.
A high school biology teacher for the past 33 years, coach Chester was chosen as the ‘National Coach of The Year’ for boys cross country in 2006 along with being twice named ‘Coach of the Year’ for Cross Country and once for Track for the State of Connecticut.
During his coaching career,coach Chester has had the privilege of working with 152 All-Conference, 58 All-State, and 27 All-New England runners as well as 3 All-Americans and 2 Footlocker finalists.
